Ryan and The Ryno Institute Updates March 2013
Hello everyone. As most of you may have probably heard by now, Ryan suffered a horrific crash while coaching and training on February 13, 2013, from which he was temporarily paralyzed from the neck down upon impact. He regained feeling and movement, only for paralysis to set in again from the chest down that same evening as a hematoma enlarged on his spine. He had two surgeries; one to relieve the pressure on his spine and the second the next day to place rods and screws from T2-T7 in his back. Both surgeries went beautifully and he is expected to recover fully. He’s been up and doing some walking and in the pool, but it’s going to be a fairly long road for Ryan. He’s got an amazing will and strength, so you can rest assured that he’s going to be back and he’ll be stronger than ever. He will continue to coach and teach, giving back to the sport he loves most. Thank you to everyone for your heart-felt well-wishes, your prayers and the strength you have sent to our family. We are so blessed in so many ways!
While Ryan recovers, The Ryno Institute is still operating. We have qualified staff working with our riders at the tracks and in the gym, under the supervision of Ryan. He’ll still be meeting up daily with the riders to oversee the workouts and review riding videos with the crew.
We are also excited to offer a couple new programs through The Ryno Institute. These programs will be innovative, one-on-one training options for our riders and athletes anywhere world-wide. Plus, you’ll get to work with Ryan on a very personal level, so be sure to check it out.
And for those of you that would like immediate MX training information at any time; please visit www.rynopowergym.com where you will find all kinds of valuable information including riding tips, nutritional tips, gym workouts, movements, recipes and more.
Thanks again to all of Ryan’s fans, family and friends…he’s stronger than ever because of you and we look forward to bringing the future of MX training to you!

As most of you know, we are always expanding our ever-growing “Ryno” name. Our core emphasis has always been and will continue to be working with riders and athletes to improve their speed and safety on the track. Ryan lives and breathes motocross, fitness and living a healthy lifestyle and enjoys nothing more than working with people everyday to teach what he knows and does best. However, we realize not everyone has the time nor the luxury of being able to travel to California to train with Ryan, so we are launching the coolest thing since sliced bread to bring his training to you, no matter where you reside in the world!
RynoPowerGym is our latest and we believe, one of our greatest additions yet! At www.rynopowergym.com you will find a compilation of everything that our training programs entail and more. ANNOUNCEMENT: New “Day” Option Added to Our Ryno Institute Programs!
We are pleased to announce a new addition to our Ryno Institute Training Programs! We hope this will be a great option for those that travel to work with Ryan and for those that want to get the most out of their experience with Ryan. We still offer private track lessons with Ryan for one rider to a group. This “new” training option is solely for one person at a time. Take a look at what it entails:
One On One Training Day With Ryan Hughes
Spend a day with Ryan Hughes. Over the course of your day with Ryan, he will be working with you for 3-4 hours on the bike working on technique imbalances. You will be focusing on controlling the bike, being one with the bike and stabilizing the bike. This will be achieved, as well as working on starts, corners, jumps, ruts, whoops and more. Ryan will also be working on race management with you including line selection, energy saving tips, your “flow” on the track, bike set up and more. Overall, focusing on these aspects together, will bring more speed and control (safety) at the end of the day; which are the two main concerns of every rider. Every rider wants to be faster, without compromising safety-which is key. With over 28 years experience, Ryan knows focusing on these key elements are the only way to achieve both at the same time.
Once you’ve completed your track session with Ryan, then it is off to his private gym facility in Temecula, California! There you will learn proper stretching and strength/cardio techniques which will address Ryan’s motocross specific training. Stretching will help imbalances within the body often created by riding and Ryan’s gym training will get you on the correct path, addressing your strength needs specifically. Motocross demands much of it’s riders, from strength, stability, power, speed, flow to coordination and Ryan’s workouts focus and hit all these areas.
Upon commencement of your day with Ryan, you will take home a list of points to work on when riding and your personalized workout and stretching exercises. You will also receive a gift from Ryno Power Sports Supplements, a Ryno Power t-shirt, stickers and a personal signed poster from Ryan. All the information obtained while working with you will be saved for future follow up visits so we as a team, can progress your training and riding!
